Thrive Together Wales Projects

Thrive Together Wales brings specialist organisations from across Wales together so veterans and their families do not have to face life’s challenges alone. From mental health and peer mentoring to housing, family relationships, welfare and community connection, the partnership makes it easier to find the right support, in the right place, at the right time.

Mae Gyda’n Gilydd Cymru yn dod â sefydliadau arbenigol o bob rhan o Gymru ynghyd fel nad oes rhaid i gyn-filwyr a’u teuluoedd wynebu heriau bywyd ar eu pen eu hunain. O iechyd meddwl a mentora cymheiriaid i dai, perthnasoedd teuluol, lles a chysylltiadau cymunedol, mae’r bartneriaeth yn ei gwneud yn haws dod o hyd i’r cymorth cywir, yn y lle cywir, ar yr adeg gywir.

Adferiad – Portfolio Lead

Bringing the partnership together across Wales, Adferiad helps veterans overcome challenges involving mental health, housing, employment, finances, wellbeing and life after service. Through its veteran support services, including Change Step, it connects people with practical help and opportunities to rebuild confidence and move forward.

Gan ddod â’r bartneriaeth ynghyd ledled Cymru, mae Adferiad yn helpu cyn-filwyr i oresgyn heriau sy’n ymwneud ag iechyd meddwl, tai, cyflogaeth, materion ariannol, lles a bywyd ar ôl gwasanaethu. Drwy ei wasanaethau cymorth i gyn-filwyr, gan gynnwys Change Step, mae’n cysylltu pobl â chymorth ymarferol a chyfleoedd i ailfeithrin hyder a symud ymlaen.

Alabaré – Homes for Veterans

Helping veterans facing homelessness find more than just a roof over their heads. Alabaré provides supported accommodation alongside personalised help with mental health, finances, employment and finding permanent housing, giving veterans the stability they need to rebuild independent lives.

Change Step

Veterans supporting veterans. Change Step uses peer mentors with lived military experience to help former Armed Forces personnel and their families navigate civilian life. Support can cover health, housing, employment, finances, welfare and reconnecting with the wider community.

Defence Medical Welfare Service – DMWS

Providing a bridge between healthcare and everyday life. DMWS delivers independent welfare support to members of the Armed Forces community, helping people deal with issues surrounding physical and mental health, housing, substance use, employment and other difficulties that can arise during illness, treatment or transition.

Yn darparu pont rhwng gofal iechyd a bywyd bob dydd. Mae DMWS yn darparu cymorth lles annibynnol i aelodau o gymuned y Lluoedd Arfog, gan helpu pobl i ymdopi â materion sy’n ymwneud ag iechyd corfforol ac iechyd meddwl, tai, defnyddio sylweddau, cyflogaeth ac anawsterau eraill a all godi yn ystod salwch, triniaeth neu gyfnod o newid.

Fighting With Pride

Making sure LGBTQ+ veterans and serving personnel are recognised, welcomed and supported. Fighting With Pride provides specialist support, connects people with veteran services and works with organisations to improve understanding of the particular experiences and challenges faced by LGBTQ+ members of the Armed Forces community.

Reading Force

Reading Force helps Armed Forces and veteran families stay close and connected through the simple power of sharing stories. Families receive free books, scrapbooks and journals that encourage them to read and take part together, whether they live under the same roof or are separated by deployment, distance or family circumstances. Shared reading helps strengthen relationships, improve communication and create positive memories for children, parents and the wider family.

TGP Cymru – Veterans and Families Service

Supporting not only the veteran, but the whole family around them. TGP Cymru helps veterans, partners and family members communicate more effectively, understand one another, resolve conflict and strengthen relationships—recognising that successful recovery and transition often involve the entire family.

The Icarus Charity

Fast, flexible and veteran-led mental health support. Icarus provides free online support for veterans, serving personnel and their families, specialising particularly in PTSD and complex trauma and helping people access support when they need it.

Cymorth iechyd meddwl cyflym, hyblyg sy’n cael ei arwain gan gyn-filwyr. Mae Icarus yn darparu cymorth ar-lein am ddim i gyn-filwyr, personél sy’n gwasanaethu a’u teuluoedd, gan arbenigo’n benodol mewn PTSD a thrawma cymhleth a helpu pobl i gael cymorth pan fydd ei angen arnynt.

The VC Gallery

A veteran-focused community hub where creativity, camaraderie and practical support come together. The VC Gallery provides welfare support and referrals alongside art, social activities and community projects that help veterans overcome isolation, express themselves and reconnect with civilian life.

V-Aid

V-Aid brings veterans and communities together through practical humanitarian action. Based in South Wales, the charity involves veterans alongside other community members in producing and distributing nutritious, long-life emergency food and essential supplies for people facing crisis. Its work gives veterans opportunities to use their skills, regain purpose and support others while helping people experiencing hardship across Wales and beyond.

Valley Veterans

A veteran-led community built around camaraderie, wellbeing and belonging. Valley Veterans provides peer support, social activities and opportunities to connect, helping veterans improve their wellbeing, combat isolation and become part of a supportive community.

Cymuned sy’n cael ei harwain gan gyn-filwyr ac sy’n seiliedig ar gyfeillgarwch, lles ac ymdeimlad o berthyn. Mae Valley Veterans yn darparu cymorth cymheiriaid, gweithgareddau cymdeithasol a chyfleoedd i gysylltu ag eraill, gan helpu cyn-filwyr i wella eu lles, lleihau unigrwydd a dod yn rhan o gymuned gefnogol.

Woody’s Lodge

A welcoming place where veterans and their families can reconnect, find practical help and rediscover a sense of belonging. Woody’s Lodge combines one-to-one support, peer mentoring and signposting with wellbeing activities and community spaces designed to reduce isolation and build confidence.
